POSITIVE AFFIRMATION CARDS FOR MOMS

These affirmation cards for moms are life altering. No, seriously! They changed my life when I was on my crazy postpartum journey and adjusting to life as a stay at home mom.

Have you ever heard the phrase that being a mom is hard?

I used to hear people say this and think they were crazy.

Apparently I thought life was pretty easy with one kid and that I was doing something right. My comfortable world came to a tumbling crash when our second child was born.

He hasn’t been a hard or bad child by any means, but having two kids under the age of two has been challenging for this momma.

As I was transitioning to a stay-at-home mom, I wasn’t used to spending all day with my toddler.

He made countless messes, refused to eat his food, fought nap time, etc. Both boys would cry and need me at the same time and I felt defeated and outnumbered pretty much all day.

Throw some postpartum hormones in there and I was a hot mess.

Long story short, I now catch myself saying that cliche phrase, “Being a mom IS hard.”

WHAT ARE AFFIRMATION CARDS?

I had never heard of affirmation cards until last year. Obviously I had heard of affirmations, especially used as one of the 5 Love Languages, but the term affirmation cards was new to me.

After doing a little research, I discovered that affirmation cards are positive notes of encouragement on little cards with some cute font and graphics.

When I was at my lowest, I came up with the idea to create some affirmation cards for moms, because I DESPERATELY needed them.

These words of encouragement got me through many hard days and still do!

AFFIRMATION CARDS FOR MOTHERS

Here is a list of the affirmations that I have found most helpful. Each one is a special phrase that I helped me during my hard times or days, and still do today!

  • I am doing my best.
  • Happiness is my choice today.
  • I deserve to take a break and relax today.
  • This too shall pass.
  • I am learning to be a better mother everyday.
  • My home is a safe place.
  • I can do HARD things.
  • My kids will not remember a messy house.
  • It is okay to ask for help.
  • I want my kids to know they are loved today.

WHAT TO DO WITH AFFIRMATION CARDS?

I love putting affirmation cards around the house, specifically places that seem to be a little depressing like the laundry room or by the kitchen sink. (Anybody else feel like they live in the kitchen and laundry room??)

Try to keep a few in your car, especially if you spend a significant amount of time with your kids there.

Give these as a gift to a new mom that could use some positive encouragement.

Print them full page, put them in a frame and use them as decorations throughout your house.

Best of luck to you momma! Remember, being a mom is hard. You got this!
