Top 10 Christian Podcasts for Moms

Christian podcasts for moms are all over the Internet and it is hard to know which ones to start following. I have shared my top 10 favorites and would love to hear what you think!

I have learned in my 3 years of being a mom, that I need positivity in my life. When at home with the kids all day, I can feel bad attitudes creeping in, especially when folding the pile of laundry or cleaning up the third spill for the morning.

Transitioning to being a stay at home mom was not an easy one for me. After having my second baby, I decided to be done teaching and stay home. I knew I always wanted to be a SAHM, and assumed it would be Heaven on earth. Honestly, I had a rude awakening.

Thankfully, God was right there beside me every step of the way and helped me find a better way. I began changing my mindset about staying home and the job in front of me. Each day, I would fill my mind and heart with encouragement as I read (and listened to) many Christian books for moms, listened to Christian music throughout the day, and Christian podcasts.

Why listen to Christian podcasts?

If you are not growing, you are dying. Now, don’t roll your eyes at me. I get it. You feel like you already have SO much on your plate. How can you add one more thing? I was there. Don’t think about listening to podcasts as one more thing on your list to get done today. Think of it as moving the things around on your plate to make it feel lighter.

  • Draw us closer to Christ. Listening to podcasts helps us learn more about Christ. We are talking about God, our Father, our creator, and our friend. How can we have a good relationship with Him if we are not spending time with him daily?
  • Keep a good attitude. Filling my mind with positive encouragement from Christian women and pointing to Jesus has been so helpful in my journey of not just surviving motherhood but thriving in it.
  • Gives encouragement. As a stay at home mom, I don’t get very many adult conversations throughout my days. Listening to other women discuss the Bible has been so encouraging for me!

When to listen to Christian podcasts?

As I stay at home mom, sometimes you can get lost in all the daily tasks, like folding laundry, unloading the dishwasher, making meals, cleaning the bathrooms, and the list goes on. One way that I have found to really help my attitude and productivity, is by listening to podcasts. I also love listening to audiobooks, but if I only have 20 to 30 minutes, it can feel so refreshing to start and finish a podcast, get a little takeaway, and get a task completed all at the same time.

  • While driving
  • Getting ready for the day
  • Making your bed
  • Doing dishes
  • Folding laundry
  • Making supper
  • Cleaning up the kitchen
  • Playing with your children
  • Working out
  • Going on a walk

My Top 10 Christian Podcasts for Moms

As a Christian mom, we feel many different roles, and there’s so many components that impact us. Some of these talk about motherhood, some of them talk about marriage, some of them talk about relationship with Christ. All are important in taking care of ourselves as a mom.

A few months ago I decided to create a post about Christian podcasts for moms, but only knew of a few. I hit the ground running and have been listening to a TON of podcasts to make sure I was passing along helpful information.

These are not in any specific order, I just jotted down my favorites of the 30 or so I listened to these past few months.

1. Hello Mornings Podcast

I am starting off the list with a podcast I am obsessed with, Hello Mornings Podcast is all about creating a healthy morning routine and building habits. This aligns so perfectly with my goal here at Living Practically. Creating daily habits to take care of our physical and mental health so we can be great moms. She breaks down a good morning routine into 3 items, God Time, Plan Time, and Move Time. Her episodes are quick (typically around 20 minutes) and an easy listen. Highly recommend!

Check out Hello Mornings Podcast here.

2. Parenting with Ginger Hubbard

The first few episodes I was a little confused how this podcast was run. Katy Morgan is the host of the podcast but chats with Ginger Hubbard on all of the episodes. Ginger is the author of “Don’t Make Me Count to Three”, “Wise Words for Moms”, and “I Can’t Believe You Just Said That.” I love the practical parenting advice that Ginger gives. People will ask specific questions like “How do I get my toddler to stop fussing?” and she will share her advice and scripture that lead her to that perspective.

Check out Parenting with Ginger Hubbard here.

3. Heaven in Your Home

As a Christian mom and wife, I realize the importance that my marriage plays in my parenting. Having a healthy marriage is a beautiful gift that I can share with my children. The host, Francie Winslow, shares about God’s design for intimacy and the importance of having a peaceful home.

4. Healthy with Heather Brown

Love, love, love this! I know not everybody is into health, but ya should be 🙂 It did not take me long to realize that I LOVE this podcast. Her episodes align with my purpose of getting moms to be healthy by taking care of our physical and mental health. She discusses topics such as healthy food choices, falling in love with God, prioritizing your husband, creating joy with your kids, and having fun even in the ordinary days.

7. Off the Bench with Heidi St. John

Heidi St. John is the podcast host and author of multiple Christian books for moms. She connect faith and current events to keep Christians in the loop but with a Gospel focus. I find the news very biased and depressing, but have enjoyed getting current events from her podcast!

8. She Lives Purposefully

Megan Holmes Edmonds chats about friendships, mental health, and shares bibles studies with her listeners. Her podcast is not focused on motherhood, but as Christian women living a life on purpose. Her podcast episodes are around 30 minutes and have been very encouraging to me!

9. Pray the Word with David Platt

This is a podcast hosted by David Platt is not focused on motherhood or women, but all Christians. His 5 minute daily podcast has been a wonderful addition to my morning routine. David Platt, author of “Radical”, shares a scripture and then leads a pray. As I get ready in the morning, I listen to it and it sets me up for a good attitude and eternal perspective throughout my day.

10. Risen Motherhood

So many of my friends love the Risen Motherhood podcast. It is hosted by Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler and they discuss topics to everyday motherhood, through the lens of the gospel. Occasionally they do mini-series, which have been such a blessing for me. One of my favorite mini-series was on social media and how it affects us as mothers! This podcast can be pretty in-depth and does require some thinking.

Runner Up Christian Podcasts

Even though I enjoy listening to these, but they didn’t make the top 10 list. I still wanted to share them though because they might be your cup of tea 🙂

Focus on the Family and Focus on Parenting

I hear this program on the radio frequently but you can also find them anywhere you listen to podcasts. They have three different podcasts that range from marriage, family, and parenting. It is a well respected and trusted podcast with sound Christian advice.

Sex Chats with Christian Wives

I have listened to this Christian podcast over the last 2 years, and learned so much as a newly married bride. The podcast is hosted by four Christian women that chat about sex and God’s design for it. As we know, sex is an important part of a healthy marriage and growing our intimacy helps in all aspects of our lives.
