Simple Korean Beef with Ground Beef Recipe

This Korean Beef with ground beef is a quick and healthy version of the classic Asian dish made with flank steak. It is perfectly sweet and spicy. Serve it with rice, lettuce wraps, or cauliflower rice for a low carb option!

The best part? You can make this Korean beef in under 20 minutes!

Why I love Korean Beef

EASY– This meal is simple to make, even with kids hangry kids, or people that don’t enjoy cooking.

CHEAP– Because this recipe uses ground beef instead of flank steak, it makes it a very budget friendly meal.

SIMPLE INGREDIENTS– This busy momma doesn’t do extravagant meals. The majority of the meals I make use ingredients that I already have in my kitchen. I put together a grocery list that I use monthly to stock up on the basics.

30 MINUTE MEAL- From start to finish, this Korean beef recipe takes under 20 minutes.

ONE POT MEAL- Who wants to do extra dishes? Not this girl! Any time I can save a dish to wash, I am one happy camper! This whole meal can be made in one pot, from frying up the ground beef, adding the sauce, any other vegetables or cauliflower rice.

HEALTHY– This is a sugar free recipe and uses honey as a natural sweetener. It is made from whole ingredients.

What to Serve with Korean Beef

Granted you can do whatever you want, but these are some of our favorites:

  • Put it over a bed of lettuce and enjoy it as a salad. If you need more dressing, try this asian vinaigrette.
  • Stuff lettuce wraps with the meat filling for a delicious appetizer or low carb lunch.
  • Serve over a bed of cauliflower rice for some extra veggies.
  • White or brown rice is another great option.
  • Create a loaded sweet potato by putting the meat filling on top of a baked sweet potato.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp ginger shredded
  • 2 Tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ onion diced
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional or you can use red pepper flakes)

How to make Korean Beef

  1. Whisk together the soy sauce, sriracha, garlic, ginger, and honey. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add ground beef. When you no longer see any red, about 5 minutes, drain meat.
  3. Add ground beef and sauce back into skillet. Let the meat cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently. I love to throw some broccoli florets in for the last few minutes to add some veggies.
