As a health and fitness coach, you might assume that this girl doesn’t eat French fries. Let me tell you, you are wrong. I do. French fries are one of my favorite foods and I incorporate into my life frequently.
Now, I life in small town America and our closest McDonalds is 30 minutes away. Not to mention my husband and I are a fan of living below our means and budgeting our money. We don’t do out to eat frequently. Getting fast food French fries is a rare occasion.
Instead, I make homemade French fries.
Sweet potato fries are one of our absolute favorite side dishes! They are so easy to throw together and definitely a kid friendly food.

WHY I LOVE THIS BAKED SWEET POTATO FRIES RECIPE
Sweet potato fries are simple. They are ALMOST as easy as ripping open a bag of frozen sweet potato fries from the store, but they taste SO. MUCH. BETTER!
You probably have everything on hand already. I try to minimize trips to the grocery store by having a well stocked kitchen. As long as you have sweet potatoes, you can make these sweet potato fries!
Sweet potatoes are healthy. Known for being a healthy carb, sweet potatoes are also full of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Learn more about sweet potatoes here. Since starting my health journey a couple of years ago, I have gotten pretty good at reading food labels. Bags of frozen French fries (and ones you buy at fast food restaurants) have other preservatives and additives in them. Whenever possible, try to make whole, clean foods at home.
They are DELICIOUS. We NEVER have any leftovers when we make sweet potato fries. They are SO. STINKIN’. GOOD.
Sweet potatoes last a couple of weeks. If you are new around here, I try to go grocery shopping every 2-3 weeks so we can save money. We always stock up on sweet potatoes when we go grocery shopping and we always have them on hand. Sweet potatoes are so versatile and can be used in so many different ways.

- sweet potatoes
- olive oil (or butter)
- spices of choice (chipotle powder, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, paprika)
INGREDIENTS IN SPICY SRIRACHA MAYO
- mayo
- sriracha

Baked Sweet Potato Fries Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp burger seasoning or other seasoning mix
SPICY MAYO
- ¼ cup Mayo
- 1-2 tsp Sriracha sauce
BURGER SEASONING
- 3 Tbsp salt
- 2 Tbsp paprika
- 2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp dried basil
- 2 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dry mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
- Wash and cut sweet potatoes. (Peeling is optional). Cut potatoes in half lengthwise. Continue to cut into 1/4 inch wedges and try to keep them uniform in size so they bake similarly. Place on baking sheet. Drizzle with oil and spices. Use your hand or spatula to mix to ensure that all wedges are coated.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes. After about 15 minutes, take out the baking sheet and gently shake the pan or use a spatula to mix up the fries so they don't burn. Finish baking.
- While the sweet potatoes are roasting, mix together the sriracha mayo dipping sauce.
