BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES RECIPE

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I have found over the years and a recipe that I will keep. Be sure to check out the tips for getting them perfect every time.

I have tested many chocolate chip cookies recipes over the past few years and have finally found one I will use over and over again.

There are so many times when I’m asked to bring cookies to an event, but there are just so many chocolate chip cookie recipes out there. It can be overwhelming.

Most recipes are similar, but have minor differences that can really change the whole cookie.

When you find your go-to recipe for chocolate chip cookies you hold on to it.

A few years ago, I found this recipe and not only my holding on to it, I’m sharing it with others!

INGREDIENTS IN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES RECIPE

  • flour
  • baking soda
  • salt
  • butter
  • brown sugar
  • granulated sugar
  • eggs
  • vanilla extract
  • chocolate chips or chunks

I go back and forth on whether I like the cookie dough or the freshly baked cookie straight out of the oven better.

We ALWAYS have these chocolate chip cookies in the freezer. I also like to keep cookie dough balls in the freezer so I can quickly make fresh cookies for an event.

TIPS FOR THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Do a combination of chocolate chips. I love mixing dark, milk, and semi sweet chocolate chips into my cookies. Each bite is a little different and keeps things exciting.

Make sure your butter is at room temperature so it can blend smoothly with the sugars. I have found it helpful to also have the eggs at room temperature also. About an hour or so before you plan to bake your cookies, set out your butter and eggs.

Buying chocolate bars and chopping into chunks is a great way to get a better tasting chocolate chip cookie. Chocolate chunks are also healthier as they typically have less additives.

DON’T OVER MIX. Use a wooden spoon once you add in the flour.

Take your cookies out BEFORE you think they are ready. In my opinion, there is a 1 minute “sweet spot” on the perfect time to take your cookies out of the oven. Set your timer for 8 minutes and watch them closely after the timer goes off. Remember, they continue to bake on the baking sheet.

Besides, what is the worst that can happen? Eating a gooey cookie sounds delectable to me.

TIP- Under baked your cookies or brownies? Stick them in the freezer! You won’t notice the texture if you eat them frozen!
